Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’ ~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year, we invite children and adults of all ages to join us in supporting the Grant Park Conservancy’s MLK Day Service Project on January 19th. From 9am to noon, we will work together to spread mulch as well as remove limbs, debris and trash from our beautiful Grant Park.
If you have small children – don’t despair! There will be a special opportunity for parents and children under the age of 5 beginning at 10am. We will spread mulch for an hour and then we’ll have drinks and snacks ready for the kids to enjoy after our hard work. We will gather at the South end of the Boulevard parking lot. Please arrive by 10am so we can welcome everyone, talk about what we’ll be doing and discuss safety.
Make sure you dress appropriately (layers, closed-toe shoes) and bring work gloves if you have them. The Conservancy will provide gloves but they won’t be as nice as what you might have at home. Don’t forget your water bottle! If you have a wheelbarrow to spare, please bring one, we could use extras. All other tools will be provided.
