Montessori In Town announces their school’s expansion to include a Montessori Elementary program beginning in the fall. The Elementary program, a multi-aged classroom for children ages six to nine, plans to begin with first through third grades in August 2011. The Elementary program complements and provides a continuum from the Primary program. It will be the first AMI Elementary program serving the in town neighborhoods.
Executive Director, Maureen Walter, says now is the right time. “With recent redistricting concerns in Dekalb County and the probationary status of the Atlanta Public Schools, our current families are concerned about options for the elementary years”, says Walter. “Parents are looking for other options but still want their children to attend school close to home.”
Families interested in learning more about the school’s Primary and Elementary programs are encouraged to attend an upcoming Open House: Thursday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. (Glen Castle campus 750 Glenwood Avenue, SE) or Sunday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. (Poncey Highland campus 1085 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE). Call to RSVP at 404-784-1038.
