Taking Donations at June Music in the Meadow

Have some gently used toys or books to spare? Throw one or two in your wagon on your way to the June 2 Music in the Meadow! GPPN’s Community Outreach Committee will be collecting donations to be given to children attending the upcoming World Refugee Day in Clarkston on 6/18.

Here’s some guidelines on what we will be collecting:
Toys:
Please no used fabric/cloth toys, no broken or violent toys, (guns, weapons, etc.), and no toys that are small enough to choke on.
Books:

Children’s books appropriate for ages 2-11. Note: English is often a second language for the readers.

Donations can also be dropped off up until 6/16 at 705 Killian Street.

See you there!

Taco Dinner was a Hit!

A heartfelt thank you to the GPPN community for the generous donations of food, time and household items at our second Nicolas House Taco Dinner. Nicolas House is a shelter for homeless parents and their children right here in Grant Park. We had a great time serving food and spending time with the residents. Our sign up form filled up in no time! If you weren’t able to attend or participate, there are many opportunities to organize your own group to cook and serve dinner by checking out this link here.

Pre K & Kindergarten Forum

GPPN was pleased to bring you a panel addressing Pre-K and Kindergarten options in the neighborhood. The panel was held in late January for over 80 interested parents!  We gathered data on the schools represented in the fact sheet you see here.
